KNOWLEDGE & RESEARCH

Building the knowledge base for better women’s health

Research and data are essential to improving women’s health, but their value depends on what we do with them. Across the Nordics, valuable knowledge already exists, yet much of it remains scattered across organisations, sectors and borders.

We bring research, data and expertise together to make knowledge more accessible and easier to act on. By connecting evidence with the people shaping healthcare, policy and innovation, we push for a future where women’s health is better understood, better prioritised and better served.

WHAT WE DO

The more we understand about women’s health, the better equipped we are to change it.

Across the Nordics, researchers, healthcare professionals and innovators are pushing our understanding of women’s health forward. Their work holds enormous potential, and we want to see more of that knowledge reach beyond its original setting, inspire new ideas and influence the decisions that shape women’s lives.

That’s why we work across disciplines and sectors to:

Identify knowledge gaps: We shine a light on what we still don’t know about women’s health, where research is falling short and which questions deserve greater attention.

Strengthen collaboration: We connect researchers and organisations across the Nordic ecosystem, bringing different perspectives together to challenge assumptions, share expertise and explore new approaches.

Make knowledge accessible: We work to ensure that valuable research and evidence reach beyond academic circles, giving more people the insights they need to make informed decisions and drive change.

Our ambition is to see more research put to work, more knowledge shared across borders and more evidence shaping the future of women’s health.

OUR UPCOMING AND PAST PROJECTS IN THE KNOWLEDGE PILLAR

  • WOMEN’S HEALTH IN THE NORDICS 2026 REPORT

What does it take to build a stronger Nordic ecosystem for women’s health innovation?

Our upcoming report explores how connections across sectors can help move women’s health forward. Drawing on data and case studies from Nordic Women’s Health Hub’s initiatives and partnerships, it examines how we bring startups, investors, researchers, patient organisations and decision-makers together and what we are learning along the way.

From investment and innovation to knowledge sharing and collaboration, the report highlights emerging opportunities, barriers and practical ways to get involved.

The report is supported by Industriens Fond and will be launched on the 9th of December 2026

  • RESEARCHER OF THE MONTH

Giving women’s health researchers the spotlight they deserve.

Behind every new discovery are people asking questions, challenging assumptions and pushing our understanding of women’s health forward.

Launching in 2027, Researcher of the Month will highlight the researchers advancing the field, sharing their work & insights.

We want to give their expertise a bigger platform and bring more attention to the people shaping the future of women’s health.

  • ECOSYSTEM MAP EXPANSION

Bringing research into the bigger picture.

Across the Nordics, researchers and institutions are advancing our understanding of women’s health. Yet finding the right expertise and discovering potential collaborators across borders isn’t always straightforward.

We’re planning to expand our Dynamic Ecosystem Map to include not only research institutions but also researchers, making it easier to discover who’s working on what across the region.

By bringing this expertise into one place, we want to strengthen collaboration.
